Vintage 2023
95 pointd
" Easy to get into, offers all the archetypal flavours..." 95 Points. This is just hitting its straps. Easy to get into, as it offers all the archetypal flavours and more. Appealing fresh tobacco and warm bitumen aromas come through, while flavours of dark plums and black cherries are doused in licorice, woodsy spices and choc-mint. It's a fuller-bodied but not big wine. There's a certain restraint and elegance to this, and that's a word not often used for this bolshie variety, such is the Bleasdale way. This has youth on its side so it's bright and easy. In time it will garner more complexity. Can you wait? Halliday Wine Companion 2026.
Bleasdale has been growing Malbec since the late 1800’s and produced the regions first Malbec table wine in 1961. This wine is dark purple with intense aromas of violets, blackberries, plums and clove spice. Drinking well now, but with the potential to be a long term cellaring prospect if desired. It is normal for some sediment to form. Decanting one hour before drinking is recommended.
