Vintage 2018

Mogul Five Carat Cabernet Sauvignon is crimson red in appearance, with floral notes of violet and exotic flowers. On the palate you'll find flavours of blackcurrant and dried plum and lingering red fruits. Pair with roasted lamb shoulder, a cheese platter or roasted mushrooms.

    You can't get more Chinese oriented than the bottle design of The Mogul Five Carat cabernet, but the product itself is hearty South Australian fruit that benefits from bottle age. At $8 a bottle, it is excellent value, but at its original price it would have been underwhelming. Give the bottle some air for best results.

    I expected more given its pedigree and age. Maybe it is past it prime. Still good value at just over $8.00 a bottle.

    This wine is a bargain at this price. It is quite full-bodied and rich in berry tastes. It has an enticing aroma and is a good accompaniment to hard or soft cheeses and meat dishes.

    I am 92 and have never been a lover of the extremely dry "Reds". "Mogul" felt like a gift from heaven. Neither sweet or Dry- just the right taste for me. Thank you for introducing this wine to me. Allan Scott
