Vintage 1995
95 Points James Halliday. In the manner of all great stayers, has picked up pace markedly over the past year. Deeply coloured, ripe cherry, spice, vanilla and a hint of licorice rumble through the bouquet; the palate is powerful and sustained by sweet tannins, the plum and black cherry fruit providing the core for the future.
Deep crimson. Intense and exuberant liquorice, roasted chestnut, panforte, dried fruit aromas with some tarry notes. Medium concentrated with redcurrant, roasted chestnut, espresso flavours, fine grainy, al dente tannins and some mocha, cedar notes. Finishes chalky/leafy firm but long and flavourful. Lovely energy and balance. 94% Shiraz, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon. Kalimna Vineyard (Barossa Valley), Barossa Valley, Magill Estate (Adelaide)
