Vintage 2025
Central Otago, New Zealand · 100% Pinot Noir
Sam Davies has really found his feet at Mount Pisa. His powerful rosé plays beautifully to the strengths of both the region and the variety, delivering an inviting rush of juicy cranberry, red cherry, watermelon, and rose petals, with a whisper of spice and something faintly stony in the background. There's generosity through the mid-palate, a silky, almost creamy texture from time on lees, and a fresh, beautifully controlled finish. A rosé with substance, but without sacrificing an ounce of drinkability.
“Light, vivid coral pink. A spicy and weighty, textural rosé with excellent concentration of cranberry, sour cherry, sumac and floral flavours given complexity through measured use of maceration. The palate enters sleek before the fine-grained tannins emerge to delineate the crunchy flavours, leading to a long and lingering cherry finish. Not at all in the modern mould, this off-dry, well-balanced and flavoursome rosé will deliver delicious drinking in the coming year.” 93/100 — Stephen Wong MW, The Real Review
