Massoni El Nino Cabernet Sauvignon Pyrenees Ranges 750ml

Massoni El Nino Cabernet Sauvignon Pyrenees Ranges 750ml

Vintage 2014

93 Points. James Halliday. (Vintage 2013)

From the Glenkara Vineyard, fermented in tank with pumpovers, matured for 18 months in French oak. In exceptional condition, the cassis/blackcurrant fruit in a framework of quality French oak and ripe tannins. Almost too good to be true. James Halliday. August 2020.

Dark red/black with deep red hue. On the nose, some aniseed and liquorice notes mingle with juicy dark berries and a touch of toasty oak. A strong thread of varietal Cabernet Sauvignon flows through the aroma. The palate, rich and full, is powerful yet smooth. Medium to full-bodied with intense berry flavours and balanced oak. Overall, a wine with great mouthfeel and velvet-smooth tannins. Has the capacity to develop with careful cellaring.

    3. Lovely Pyrenees cab sav at a great price.

I do like reds from the Pyrenees region and this one is no exception. Very nice, smooth drinking now and should improve with further aging. Good buying at this price. on 2nd Jun 2021

    4. outstanding

Glenkara near Elmhurst in North Central Victoria (Pyrenees) has proven to be a low profile but rewarding vineyard . Now is a great time to drink the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon named for one of the drought years regular for the region . A full but soft example of the grape realising its potential.

    5. Soft easy Cabernet Sav.

Forrest berries with a touch of spice. My wife loves the softer but full wines of Italy and this happens to tick here box’s so that’s a big tick for El Niño. Very enjoyable easy to enjoy wine. on 27th May 2021
