Vintage 1993
94 Points James Halliday. Medium to full red-purple; voluminous blackberry, licorice, black cherry and chocolate fruit aromas completely integrated with sweet vanillin oak on the bouquet; has a texture and structure all of its own, not monolithic, yet meltingly smooth. Maintains the great tradition.
Deep crimson. Fresh red capsicum, dark chocolate, roasted chestnut, mushroom, pot pourri aromas. Well-concentrated generous wine with jammy dark berry, dark chocolate, espresso flavours and al dente, bitter tannins. Finishes firm and tight with underlying cedar complexity. 86% Shiraz, 14% Cabernet Sauvignon. Kalimna Vineyard (Barossa Valley), Barossa Valley, Coonawarra. The highest percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon in its history.
