Vintage 2022

Dark fruits are the dominant aroma. Blackberry dark plums and black cherries. Black pepper also pops out. From the oak barrels there is also a hint of smokiness. This bouquet is quite complex as I also get a slight hint of coffee. So often with Barossa Shiraz the bouquet and flavour can be very similar. This wine is no different. This wine is packed with rich dark fruit flavours of Blackberry, Plum and Black Cherries. There is spice too, especially black pepper. Although the tannins are big, they are smooth and velvety. You may also see a hint of smoke from the oak barrels.

    I discovered Pietersen at a conference over 40 years ago. I discovered it again at a Wine Festival in Nelson Bay. When I saw it at a fantastic price at Our Cellar, I ordered more. I had forgotten what a great Shiraz it was and from now it will be my favourite. It’s smooth drinking and is excellent with lamb.

    This wine is delicious! It's my new favourite.. and I'm not even a fan of shiraz, so that's saying something. It's nice and smooth and goes with anything... a cheese platter, a good steak, anything
