Dandelion Lionheart of the Barossa Shiraz 750ml

Dandelion Lionheart of the Barossa Shiraz 750ml

Vintage 2019

Gold Medal. San Francisco International Wine Competition 2020

Dark, delving, deep, bright and black voluminous purple. Freshly shaved dark and bitter chocolate and also dark liqueur chocolate aromas; then from the field come laurel leaves, sage still soft not hard, lemon thyme, aniseed, fresh black pepper, and raspberries and blueberries just coated by a morning rain shower. Tension. Bright berry and plum fruits and freshness and clean acidity that combine to compel the driving-bell depth of fruit to sit upright and well-postured. This fruit flavour is at once both ripe and savoury, giving and yet formal. These flavours combine lock-and-step with the fluffy tannins to make for a mouth-coating, charismatic glass of red wine. It finishes dry and clean with the berry and plum fruit flavours intertwined with rolling tannins.

    1. Dandy (as in first rate quality) Drop

A deeply colored drop with strong initial nose of black current with softer berry undertones, smooth texture with fruit arriving on the mid palate, gentle tannins and lingering pleasant aftertaste. A true example of the Dandelion craft.
Still have some 2014 in the cellar and some of the 2019 will be fun comparing.

    2. Smooth and full of flavour

I love this full-bodied shiraz that's also silky smooth to drink as the tannin is very subtle. Make sure to let it breathe before you drink (or put it through an aerator) to appreciate all the different spice and fruit notes. And Our Cellar had by far the best per dozen price. on 2nd Dec 2019

    3. 2016 Shiraz WOW..!

This is the type of wine you take to a dinner party and friends have a sip and go wow and take a photo of the label. I’m no wine expert, but I know what tastes great... I gave a bottle to my neighbour as a thank you present and she wants to order a dozen..! ;-) on 30th Sep 2018

    4. Can’t put it down

Apart from being a whacking good looking label, I can’t fault this wine. It has amazing intensity on the nose and a soft juicy palate with lots of black currants and plums. Drinks great now and to fully appreciate it, cellar it for 2 - 3 years. on 26th Jul 2016
