Vintage 2024
Spring Vale is a small, family-owned vineyard in Cranbrook on Tasmania's Freycinet Coast, with the Lyne family working the property since 1875. The 1842 homestead is one of the oldest on the East Coast, and vineyard plantings began in 1986 under Rodney and Lyn Lyne, with Pinot Gris planted in 1996. Today the 32-hectare site is managed by son Tim Lyne, who holds both a viticulture degree and an MBA.
The vineyard benefits from the Freycinet Coast's combination of low rainfall (around 550mm annually — the driest part of Tasmania) and the greatest hours of sunlight in the state, both contributing factors in the intensity and structure of Spring Vale wines. All vineyard operations are carried out by hand and the wines are made on-site.
Spring Vale Pinot Gris Tasmania is a varietally intense expression of the variety, drawing on the ideal growing conditions of the East Coast for freshness, fruit depth and textural interest. A classic Tasmanian Pinot Gris combining ripeness with cool-climate energy.
