Vintage 2024

Bright and clear with a light straw colour. This is a well textured Chardonnay; it has a lovely fullness to the palate while still having a delicate silky fineness. After 6 months on lees, the light, toasty oak characters are well integrated with the peachy fruit/butterscotch flavours and the higher acids this year have added a pleasing pink grapefruit character. It is well weighted and its lovely fresh acidity contributes to its great length of flavour. Delicious now and will develop more buttery notes and complexity with bottle age.

    Aptly named

    This wine is aptly named as it reminds me very much of the Chardonnay style very popular in the 1990s when malolactic fermentation was used to reduce acidity and improve flavour and aroma. This "buttery" Chardonnay has strong fruit flavour and harmonious oak. I buy it every vintage
