Woody, lingering, old style, fruity
We have been very happy with this style of Chardonnay for many years. There aren’t many vintners who age in oak, but wood adds complexity to the fruit,,creates a lingering flavour

Ara single estate Marlborough NZ Chardonnay.
Our favourite tipple from Giesen is no longer available. This was recommended to us, along with a sample to try. We are impressed by the bouquet, colour, taste with a lingering palate. Not quite as good as the Giesen, but right up there.

Ara Chardonnay
This has rapidly become our favourite chardy. Have now bought this a couple of times now it’s very easy to drink and very mellow. Not quite as oaky as I usually like but still has a slight hint of oak. Nevertheless we love it and would certainly recommend to those chardy lovers

Very satisfying taste of Oak
As a lover of old fashioned chardonnay it was a very pleasant surprise to discover this wine at my local restaurant. The more recent chardonnays are light and lack that deep oak characteristic which I love.
