New Range of High Flying Spirits Just Landed
Recently a new distillery reached out to us to have a taste of their products and boy were were in for a treat. These guys, 23rd Street Distillery, hail from the small town of Renmark is regional South Australia. They have resurrected an old distillery from 1914 with, new, 21st century technology while maintaining the original copper stills. While their equipment and methods are a mix of old school and modern, there is nothing modern about their look with each label being created by local artists encapturing the riverland around Renmark

This is an exquisite gin distilled with the inclusion of 10 botanicals including juniper, coriander (I know its not everyones thing, but trust me it works) and local citrus. The gin has lovely aromas of juniper and mandarin with a similar palate. It is best enjoyed neat, in a classic tonic, or any cocktail Awards:

Hybrid Whisk(e)y |

This interesting whisk(e)y is a blend of both scotch and bourbon whiskies to create a round, smooth whisk(e)y with sherry and toasty oak characters. The blend is made by aging the whisk(e)y in scotch barrels for five years and the bourbon whisk(e)y in bourbon barrels for 2 years to great what they think is the ideal blended whisk(e)y. Awards:

Prime 5 Brandy |

Their more traditional style brandy gets its name from the average of 5 years it spends in barrels. Similar to the Not Your Nanna’s Brandy they have blended pot still brandy with ex-chardonnay aged brandy to produce a brandy of rich depth and flavour. Awards:

This funky brandy is made with old chardonnay barrels which is used to give the brand a fresh new taste for a new millennium. These toasty old chardonnay barrels bring together the single and double pot characters of vanilla, apricot and honey. This brandy has spent two years in american and french oak chardonnay barrels blended with copper spot stills. It is this blending of barrels and stills which really brings out the apricot and vanilla with rounded spices. Awards:
