Vintage 2024

Deep, deeply, black-purple and impenetrable. The rim edge listens with vivid violet and garnet hues. Aniseed and ripe plum aromas, with hints of bay leaves and eucalypt. It is a herbal and slightly minty aromaticity, with just the faintest, faintest whiff of oak’s bouquet: coffee, dark chocolate and cedar. This is both a textural and plushly fruit powered red wine.

The textural element comes principally in the form of the tiny, powdery, finely-grained tannins. The plush fruit is just what Barossan shiraz is all about. It is its DNA. Yet, here, it is in no way stereotypical. Here we have an evolving Barossan red: there is savouriness underlining the riper plum, blackberry and raisin flavours; there is a noted and noteworthy line of clean acidity that runs through the palate, keeping those fruit flavours pert and almost balletic; and there is a lifted and upright quality that might surprise - in the best possible way - lovers of this region’s shiraz.

Dandy (as in first rate quality) Drop

Posted by Doug. Sotheren on 28th Dec 2020

A deeply colored drop with strong initial nose of black current with softer berry undertones, smooth texture with fruit arriving on the mid palate, gentle tannins and lingering pleasant aftertaste. A true example of the Dandelion craft. Still have some 2014 in the cellar and some of the 2019 will be fun comparing.

    Smooth and full of flavour

Posted by Cath on 2nd Dec 2019

I love this full-bodied shiraz that's also silky smooth to drink as the tannin is very subtle. Make sure to let it breathe before you drink (or put it through an aerator) to appreciate all the different spice and fruit notes. And Our Cellar had by far the best per dozen price.

    2016 Shiraz WOW..!

Posted by Tim R on 30th Sep 2018

This is the type of wine you take to a dinner party and friends have a sip and go wow and take a photo of the label. I’m no wine expert, but I know what tastes great... I gave a bottle to my neighbour as a thank you present and she wants to order a dozen..! ;-)

    Can’t put it down

Posted by Paul on 26th Jul 2016

Apart from being a whacking good looking label, I can’t fault this wine. It has amazing intensity on the nose and a soft juicy palate with lots of black currants and plums. Drinks great now and to fully appreciate it, cellar it for 2 - 3 years.
