Vintage 2022

2022 was a cracker vintage for both Shiraz and Mataro…with the latter probably just pipping the former in the best of vintage stakes. Whilst the Shiraz is all about instant satisfaction….plenty of rich, plump ripe dark fruits…the Mataro is meaty and savoury and acts as the perfect foil to the sweeter aspects of Barossa Shiraz.

    Teusner The Independent Shiraz Mataro 2018

    2018 was a great vintage for reds, and Kym’s team made the best of this 50 / 50 blend. The Shiraz is rich, plummy and peppery, and the Mataro adds is dark cherries, exotic spices, charcuterie and earthy notes. Layers of rich and robust flavour make this a superb Barossa red at a bargain price. It was great with a hearty sausage casserole. 95 points. Back the ute.
